PG&E said a third party that dug into the half-inch service line caused it to rupture.

"The issue was resolved quickly and safely, and all repairs have been completed," PG&E said in an email to NBC Bay Area.

Customers should call 811 before any digging project, large or small, to avoid these type of digging accidents, PG&E said.
